Room Representatives 2009-2010
Each class has been assigned a Head Room Representative. The Head Room Rep is responsible for contacting the classroom teacher before each party to determine the teacher's preferences. The Head Room Rep will then contact the other Room Reps.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROOM REPRESENTATIVES
ACTIVE PTA MEMBERSHIP: All Room Reps must be members of the PTA. You must attend a minimum of 3 PTA meetings a year.
CLASSROOM PARTIES: It is your responsibility to assist the teacher with the classroom parties and any other activities with which the teacher needs assistance throughout the year. Please stay in your assigned room during all parties. Please check with the teacher with regard to any possible food allergies. Four room parents are permitted for each party. Please make sure the classroom is clean after the party.
FIFTH GRADE ROOM REPS: As part of the Fifth Grade Room Rep duties you are asked to help with the DARE Graduation (January) and the Sixth Grade Graduation Party (June).
PLEASE NOTE: Siblings are not allowed at any of the classroom parties. Also, in the past, older siblings have walked up from the Jr. High and it is not safe to have anyone other than students and assigned Room Reps in the building. Therefore, please do not have your other children walk to Hughes to meet you on party days! There will be no exceptions to this rule. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.
All classroom parties are from 2:00pm - 3:00 pm. You must sign in at the desk in the foyer. Please do not go to your respective classrooms until 2:00 with the exception of the Halloween Party. (Check with your teacher regarding possible assistance with costumes, which would result in an earlier arrival.)
